Softball Evaluations
Softball evaluations will be this weekend, 3/25 and 3/26, for all levels except instructional. There are no evaluations for the instrcutional level. Evaluations for the other levels will be in the Milford Middle School gym at the following times:
Juniors - Friday night 3/25 at 6:30 pm
12U Majors/Minors - Saturday 3/26
Born 1998 and 1999 7:45 am - 9:30 am
Born 2000, 2001, 2002 9:15 am - 11:00 am
Everyone playing in these levels must be evaluated to be placed on a team.
Because we use the FULL gym for the evaluations, we do ask for parents not taking part in the evaluations to please stay in the lobby. There are balls being hit and thrown in all parts of the gym, and we don't want anyone to get hit by a loose ball.

MCAA softball planning meeting
The next MCAA softball planning meeting will be Monday, 3/22, at 7:00 in Milford Middle School Room 108. This meeting will be to plan volunteers and finalize the evaluation process. We will also discuss plans for the season as well.

2011 MCAA Softball Registration
This is a reminder that the registration for the 2011 season is open. We have transitioned to a new system this season for our registration and data management - Sports Pilot. In order to ensure that our data is as accurate as possible, we are asking that everyone register as a new family. Please visit the http://mcaa.us and select the sports pilot tab. This will take you to the new site. Select the Add New Family button at the bottom of the page to begin the process.
It only takes about 5 minutes to get your family set up.

All-Star Champions
Congratulations to both the 14U and 10U Souhegan Valley Storm all star teams for winning their respective state tournaments this past weekend and advancing to the New England Regional tournament the weekend of July 30. This is a huge accomplishment for our league and represents the effort of the coaches, parents, but most importantly the young ladies in our league. The SV Storm teams are comprised of players from the towns that compete in our regular softball season – Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Hollis, Mason, Milford, and Wilton.

The 14U Storm has played in 4 tournaments and has shown continuous tenacity by reaching the championship game in 3 Babe Ruth tournaments and finishing 2-2 at a Massachusetts ASA tournament. The team now has played 24 games since the end of May. They again battled hard in the NH Babe Ruth State tournament – having to play 3 games on Sunday. The Storm built a 7-2 lead against a feisty Dover team that has been a challenge for them to beat this season. Dover mounted a rally in the bottom of the 7th, but the Storm defense stiffened and held on for a close 7-6 win to take the state championship. Every player continues to contribute to the team’s success with timely hitting and clutch fielding.
The 14U Storm will play next in the New England Regional tournament at Plaistow, NH the weekend of July 30

10U All-Star Champions

The 10U Storm has also played in 4 tournaments, reaching the championship game in all but one tournament. They finished 2nd at the ASA State Tournament, and on the Babe Ruth Tournament Trail have gone undefeated to win both the District and NH State Championship. They have been led by some fantastic pitching and are getting great hits from everyone - including 3 out of the park home runs in the State tournament! As with the 14U team, the 10U team is receiving contributions from all players on offense and defense.
The 10U Storm will play next in the New England Regional tournament in Pittsfield, MA the weekend of July 30.

12U
The 12U Storm has done a great job with a new team, having played in 3 tournaments this season. The girls have shown a lot of improvement and competitiveness while playing against some of the best players in the state. So far they have played in three tournaments and will complete their season the weekend of July 30 in the Litchfield Invitational.
