MILFORD FC 2014 SPRING TRAVEL INFORMATION
Milford FC will be forming teams in the following divisions for the 2014 spring travel season – U10, U12, U14, and High School Age. These teams will be all girl and all boy teams. Depending on the age of the players that make the teams we could form U11, U13, or U15 teams instead of in the above divisions. We will aim to have teams with players whose ages are at the top of their division. The age cut off for each division is August 1, 2013. So if your child turned 8 prior to August 1 of this summer then they are eligible to tryout for the U10 division. Or if your child turned 10 prior to August 1 of this summer then they would be tryoing out for the U12 division.
The tryouts will be at the Hampshire Dome from 6pm to 8pm on the following dates for the following divisions:
U10 – Friday, October 25
U14 & High School Age – Friday, November 8
U12 – Saturday, November 9 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
We will be looking to form competitive teams to play in the New Hampshire Soccer League.
If your child makes a team the cost will be roughly $300. This cost includes training with professional trainersfrom Soccer Sphere, league fees, dome time, And Nordic cup tournament fees. Uniform fees will be seperate. There will be a discount for families with multiple players and a limited amount of scholarships will also be available upon request.
Once the teams are decided we will have a mandatory registration day in December in order to fill out the paperwork for the league and to have your player sized for their uniform.
Then in February at the Hampshire Dome we will begin our skills training sessions. These sessions will be every Saturday through February from 1pm to 3pm. These sessions will be led by trainers from Soccer Sphere. Then at the end the March the players will start regular practices with their teams and coaches.
The season starts around the second week of April and runs through second week of June. The teams will practice twice a week. The home games are played either at the MCAA fields or other fields around Milford. The games are played mostly on Sunday afternoons with some on Saturday afternoons.
We realize that your child may have other interests and want to participate in more than one sport in the spring. We ask you to seriously consider the level of commitment they will be able to give to soccer before they decide to tryout. Because this is a highly competitive league we need this commitment in order to field competitive teams.
This league and the training associated with it is a great opportunity for your player to take it to the next level. You should notice a definite improvement in their skill level, and they will have a good time doing it.
Also the teams will participate in the annual Amherst soccer clubs Memorial Day weekend tournament. This tournament draws over 250 clubs from all over the northeast. This is a great weekend of soccer. Our teams will also compete in the farther's day Nordic cup tournament in the Burlington VT area.
If your child would like to tryout we ask that you send your child’s name, age, date of birth and gender to
. Our join our Facebook page Milford FC and like our events. By sending the requested information to this email we will get a better idea of how many players will be trying out. If you forget to send the information you are still welcome to come to the tryouts. These tryouts are open to anyone so if you have friends or relatives that have players that might be interested please share this with them.
